Ben - June 2 2015

    I'm back!

    I started today by trying to fix the unit tester memory corruption in Vorb, but still couldn't find it... this might be the weirdest corruption Ive ever seen. I'll find it one day...

    Also did a tad of work on word wrap for UI, but I couldn't test it properly without the unit tester.

    In the game I worked pretty much all day on a logarithmic Z buffer to fix precision issues using this as a reference. The results were really great, however the issues with interpolation on near polygons were a huge problem for voxels. Unfortunately, I think I will need to continue to render voxels in a separate pass with a linear depth buffer, and just render all the rest of the space stuff with a logarithmic depth buffer, since the interpolation fix requires losing early-z rejection, which would tank performance in forests.

    Tomorrow I will keep working on depth issues and see what I can figure out.

    Got caught up on other stuff, will have to work on this after! But don't worry I should be able to make the fade very smooth. Gradual transparency is basically the idea.
