There is less than thirty minutes until New Horizons reaches its closest approach to Pluto. Are you guys excited? :D

You can watch the mission go down at: http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/

We made it! About half an hour ago we completed closest approach. Now it's time to wait for our first signals back from New Horizons. :)

Well, now we know what shade to make the planets in SoA. Sorta pink.

My wife yesterday saw me looking at a picture of a planet yesterday and got really excited thinking that the new pictures of Pluto had been released. I sadly had to tell her I was just looking at SoA development images.

Those mountains are ~3.5 Km high.
Now, there's very little gravity present at Pluto. It's also very cold, so I don't think the core of Pluto is hot with lava and such just like on earth(but you would need relatively strong gravity).

How did these mountains get here? It's a mystery to me.

    Solar winds?
